Lobster Pot at Low Hauxley
This delightful and romantic little 19th century fisherman’s cottage lies just 60 metres from a clean sandy beach in the picturesque seaside hamlet of Low Hauxley where a few boats still fish for lobsters and crabs. Attractive, cosy and atmospheric with its exposed stone walls, co-ordinated colours and fabrics and comfortable furnishings, it provides a holiday base of the very highest standard throughout.

Chantilly at Low Hauxley
Only metres away from a quiet stretch of golden sands Chantilly is a romantic getaway in an enviable position. Stroll along an often deserted beach on a summer’s evening with a stunning backdrop of Coquet Island, which lies a mile off shore from Amble to the north.
What we think: Unusual to get a house so close to the beach. Generally Northumbrian properties are set further back but this is unusually close and a treasure to find.

Situated in quiet residential surroundings on the south side of the River Tweed, this semi-detached bungalow offers cosy accommodation only 1 mile from the historic and fascinating town of Berwick upon Tweed.

The Old School Howick
This superb listed building was once a school for Howick Village, and part of the Howick Estate, which was the home of the 2nd Earl Grey for whom the famous tea was blended. He became Prime Minister in 1830 and his monument stands at the top of Grey Street in Newcastle. Guests are provided with a free pass to the extensive grounds and formal gardens which surround nearby Howick Hall, which are open to the public from early February to mid November.
What we think: Howick Hall is a special place….you need to stay here or in the Bathing house to appreciate what it offers.

Spindrift, Boulmer
Skilfully converted from a former stable, this attractive cottage stands just 20 metres from a sandy beach in this traditional little fishing village. Boulmer was once the principal resort of smugglers from mid Northumberland and the Scottish Borders who collected smuggled spirits and silks and transported them overnight by pack horse.
What we think: Boulmer, just to the north of Alnmouth and close to Alnwick with its castle and gardens. Great location and a modern and comfortable house.
