Alternative cottages – College Valley

Alternative cottages for the College Valley.

If the holiday house which you would like to book is unavailable then please check out the other cottages in the Valley.

There are 4 in total

Dunsdale. A large house which can sleep 8 people. It is also arguably the highest house in Northumberland. Just below Bizzle crags it offers superb views.

Coldburn cottage. A little further down the valley from Dunsdale. Coldburn is an old style farm house with enclosed garden and long views up the valley.

The Old School house. The latest addition to the valley cottages, the School house offers good accommodation next to Southernknowe.

Hethpool Mill. At the entrance to the valley and close to St Cuthberts Way. The Mill is a lovely open plan conversion.

If the four cottages in the College Valley are booked then we can offer these additional choices

The Lodge at Akeld

Closer to Wooler and with quick access onto the A687 but limited walks from your front door.

West Newton Estate cottages

Estate cottage and Gardeners cottage both in WestNewton so you literally at the entrance to the College Valley. Dogs are allowed and these two cottages make a great base for exploring North Northumberland.

Other choices

Teddy’s cottage at Mindrum.Just a little to the north of the College Valley with easy access to the River Tweed, the Mill towns of Scotland and some lovely walks.

Marmion cottage at Norham with its castle and the river tweed flowing by.

The Bothy at Earle, just to the south of Wooler. Unusual conversion in the grounds of an historic house.

If you have your heart set on an isolated and remote cottage then we also have

The Deeps at Blanchland as well as Hall Hill house in the North Tyne Valley

Tyne View at Lambley, Hadrian’s Wall and South Tyne Valley….a house with a view to match those in the College Valley :-)

Alternatively you could try Hethpool house for b&b

or just give Vicky at Byways a call and ask her to find you an ideal choice.
